While in ImageReady, open a new file with transparency set as the background.
click inside the canvas window and type in the word "duckerboard" without the quotes.
Your checkerboard will turn into ducks.

Like previous versions were you could see a alternate credits screen this can be achived the same way. Hold Ctrl+Alt. While holding these go to the help menu, and go down to About Image Ready.

Hold down CTRL key and select About Image Ready from the Help menu.
The Image Ready logo/picture is now replaced with the code name/picture of the pre release product: Taconite
At least it sounds better than "Eelpout"...
