Are You Experienced?(Jimi Hendrix) Easter Egg - Third Stone from the Sun

Find a copy of "Are You Experienced?" by The Jimi Hendrix Experience on Lp. Find a turntable capable of playing the old "78's". Cue up "Third Stone From the Sun" on side two of the album. If you play said song at the normal listening speed of "33",the "vocals",as such,are incoherent. If you play same said song at "78",however,you will hear what are apparently alien(s) in a spaceship approaching Earth and discussing the ramifications thereof.

I got the mp3 and sped it up with a plug-in called pitch fork and this is what I heard. Star fleet to Starship please give your position, over. I am in orbit of the third planet of this star orders sun over. That must be earth over. Positive, it does not seem to have any form of intelligent species over. I think we should take a look Then after Jimi says the thing about looking at the mountains and landing his "dinky machine" the exact thing is repeated slower. Later on it gets hard to understand and there are alot of whooshing noises, like a ship going through space. If you listen you can kinda make this stuff out without speeding the track up, anyway this is real and cool!

You can now hear the text exactly as it was originally spoken (with studio laughter and other banter) on disk one of the Jimi Hendrix box set, which has Jimi and Chas Chandler reciting the script then the track just as it appears on the album.

I daresay you have transcribed incorrectly. What I hear (and what makes sense) is : "...Star Fleet to Scout Ship ... ... third planet of the star known as Sun. Over. ... ...Positive. It seems to have some form of intelligent species. Over." .... - According to the published sheet music, our "very peculiar looking" visitor then lands his "kinky machine" (go figure). perhaps that explains this Big Black (Steve Albini's first band) lyric: "And I've played Hendrix albums at 78 speed" from 'Ergot' on their 'Songs About F***ing' album.

While you're listening at a higher speed (175% increase), around 4:40 you can hear Jimi say "It's true... acid drop'll make you FLY, man..." it's panned more to the left (or right if your wires are crossed).
