I tried giving the chocolate to the ghost, but the ghost (which is the old woman/assassin from the train in Broken Sword 1) disappears before I can get to it. No secret doors open up at all. What am I doing wrong?

Select the chocolate and click on the ghost when it appears. The ghost will disappear before you can give it to her and it will seem as if nothing has happened. Move the pointer to the left of the screen down the tunnel and the pointer will turn into a hand with the word 'Exit' underneath. Click here and you will find the secret.

Go to the far LEFT tunnel on the screen-the ghosty doesn't accept the chocolate bar but attempting to give it to her still activates the secret tunnel and video sequence.V.Funny!

yeah, that eegg is mad. i found it too. also later in the game, you can offer the chocolate to titipoco and he will go "urg, blrg" or something. also, there is one in Quarramonte, where you offer the coal to the goat and it'll talk to you!
