Half-Life: Opposing Force Easter Egg - Poem

actually.... this is in the end of the game... when g-man is talking to you... type "chase_avtive 1" then "thirdperson"... and look up.... wow... neet... huh?

This poem is an adjusted version of an Adam Sandler poem. All I remember was it was about a janitor and the word "hack" was originally "mop"

the Adam Sandler Song Was... Mop mop mop, all day long mop mop mop while i sing this song gonna wax that floor, gonna make it shine gonna take off that spraypaint with turpentine

It was the song "The severe beating of a high school janitor."

There is a reason why this poem appears here. A 'hack' in programming/game design terms can mean a way of getting something to work in a less than elegant way. In Half-Life, a level designer is limited to one kind of sky per map (this is just an engine limitation). But the level designer for the ending sequence in OpFor wanted 2 skies, one of the desert and one of Xen (you see both on the same map). The solution was a 'hack', what you see is the same sky, but one side is desert, one side is xen. Because the players movement is limited, this does not matter as you can't turn around and notice this (unless you cheat).

Actually this is in the ending intro to the game I found it by using 3rd person view and you look up and you can see it in the sky
