Hate to rain on your parade, but 'why' is a *documented* command. One can expand the range of "philosophical" answers by editing the WHY.M file (I know I did).

I'm the umbrella to protect you from the rain. There are over 14000 m-files in a standard install. The help file does not list 'why' as a command making it undocumented. Just because 'why' is in an m-file does not make it documented. If writing a command into software makes it documented then there would be know software eggs because they'd have to be coded ("documented") to run in the first place.
