Mallrats Easter Egg - Walt Flanogan

Walt Flanogan is also in a mini comic that came with the Silent Bob figure. Also The Jay Figure comes with Walt Flanogan's dog and it's voice-chip says " I'm faster than Walt Flanogan's Dog"

Walt Flanagan is, in Kevin Smith's ViewAskewniverse, a fan-boy played by his friend Walt Flanagan. Walt the fanboy usually appears with Steve-Dave, such as in the original script of Chasing Amy (I haven't seen the speical edition DVD so I don't know if they restored the cut scene from the beginning featuring Walt and Steve-Dave)

Walt Flanogan's dog's name is Brodie.

Walt Flanogan is also the name of one of the abortion protestors in Dogma. If you watch when the news is showing it, it says in the corner of the tv screen "Waltor Flanogan." I might be a little off on where it's says the name Waltor, it has been a long time since I've watched that movie. There's even a good chance I spelled it wrong!

First, his name is Walt FlanAgan, notice the A not O. Second, his dog's name is Kyrpto not Brodie. Third, he is in every Kevin Smith move, Chasing Amy you will need the DVD to see the cut scene he is in. Fourth, the character of Walt Flanagan is also played by Walt Flanagan, a long time friend of Kevin Smith.

OK, just to give you guys an interesting tidbit about Walt Flanagan, he and is also a CLERK at Kevin Smith's comic book store Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash in Red Bank, New Jersey. Believe me, I've been there and had him sign a T-shirt I bought there.

At the start of chasing amy the sign at the entrance to the comic book convention says "flanagan events present" and the line about his dog also appears in jay and silent bob strike back during the planet of the apes spoof.

In the movie Mallrats, Walt Flanagan played two roles, one as the fan boy, and another as the guy placeing the pedistol on the bump in the rug.

I think that the "faster than Walt Flanagan's dog" quote goes right along with the "cat stuck in Walt's butt" quote. He has a gerbil in his anus, buys the cats to get the gerbil out, and needs a dog to get the cats out. Hence - "faster than Walt Flanagan's dog" Brodie - "The food court is downstairs, the cookie stand is upstairs...it's not like we're talking quantum physics here"

If you look at the special thanks at the end credits Kevin Smith thanks someone named Walt for being the inspiration for Brodie. Coincidence? Walt Flanogan also works in Kevin Smith's comic book store "Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash".
