From the Eye Phone episode: At the scene where Bender, Fry, Leela, and Hermes are in the pizzeria, Bender shows a video of fry doing karate in his underpants. Fry asks "Since when has the internet been about robbing people of their privacy?" Bender gives the date August 6, 1991. This happens to be the exact date Tim Berners-Lee announced the World Wide Web project.
