The Big Bang Theory Easter Egg - Charlie Sheen in The Show!!!!!!!!!!!

In the episode of The Big Bang Theory where one of the nerds gets in People magazine, the guy who gets to be in people magazine calls out to a random person in the bar and tells him that he gets to be in People Magazine. The random person turns around and turns out to be Charlie Sheen, from "Two and a Half Men". He says "Yeah buddy, then tell me when you're on the front cover." The significance to this is that the creators of Two and a Half Men also created The Big Bang theory.

While this was an entertaining and surprising appearance by Charlie Sheen, unfortunately, it is not technically an Easter Egg.  An Easter Egg refers to an extra scene, option, or other media extra related to the show/movie being viewed that is hidden ('hidden' being the operative word) --which is then searched for and found by the viewer (usually by manipulating the remote control to navigate the various menus on the DVD/Blu-Ray disc).   Charlie Sheen was neither hidden (despite the fact that his back was initially turned to the viewer) nor found by the viewer (despite the fact that he then turned towards the viewer).  Remember hunting for Easter Eggs as a kid?  Someone hid eggs for you to later search for, and find.  The same concept applies here--hence the name.  Now, if Charlie Sheen had been hidden (instead of OR in addition to his scene in the show--it doesn't matter, I'm flexible) within the disc extras, THEN he would have qualified as an Easter Egg.   Besides, I think the term 'Crazy Chicken' defines him better these days, anyway. ;)
