Lands of Lore Easter Egg - Piscata Rosea
In the Urbish Mines, you can pick up various Notes from piles of human remains. Some of these Notes are actually important, but one of them just says "Piscata Rosea 4 4 5."
This is a reference to the first Kyrandia game, also produced by Westwood Studios. Near the end of that game, in one of the castle bedrooms, you could pick up an item that looked like a fish, which Brandon called a "Piscata Rosea". It had no purpose, and in fact, the words "Piscata Rosea" translate to "Red Fish" or "Red Herring"--an accurate description of both the item in Kyrandia and the note in Lands of Lore.
I believe there are actually two of these notes in Lands of Lore, both of which can be found somewhere in the Urbish Mines. No idea why there's a duplicate, and I don't know what the "4 4 5" stands for, either. Probably not worth thinking about, though. ;)
