Terminator 2: Judgement Day Easter Egg - Guns & Roses

A similiar reference was made in Jim Starlin's "Dreasdstar" comic at an intergalactic bazaar. In a stall that sells both the abovementioned items, the salesperson is saying "It's perfect! Ya bring her the flowers and if she doesn't like 'em ya shoot her!"

That scene was also used in the video for "You Could Be Mine."

Guns 'n' Roses NEVER do T-2 Soundtrack,only "You Could Be Mine" was used one time(when connor is leaving home & his friend played it in his sono). This song isn't in the soundtrack CD by the way.

This song was re-released I think with an alternate video, which was FOR terminator 2. As far as I remember, it was Arnie walking around a l8 nite disco with Guns 'n Roses playing in the background. Truly awesome actually

And also, when John and his friend are riding (After slicing the money machine) on the bike they are listning to Guns And Roses. =)

As you know, Arnie is a big fan of Hard Rock, especially Guns'n Roses...

I think you are reading too much into it.

And i read an interview once where Axl (lead singer of Guns N' Roses) said that he felt he was "on a mission like a terminator" but he is a wee bit mad...

Everyone keeps referring to "that kid" or "John's friend" in the scene on the bike while G N'R is playing. That kid is Danny Kooksie (AKA "Sam" from Different Strokes). Not to mention that he also had a kick ass band called Bad4Good...

c'mon! T2 is the guns n' roses movie par exllence. that wasn't an e.egg, because the whole movie is plagued with g'n'r references....

Actually, and this is from WAY back... Arnold's character himself states that he is a "Terminator- Cyberdyne Systems Model 101." That wouldn't make him a T-100 or a T-800, but a T-101... It's about 20 minutes into the movie, you're welcome to check me on that.

C'mon, it's so simple. Just see it as it is. Gun-in-Roses: Guns'n Roses. Very obvious. I missed other GNR references, though. I'll have to check that out.

Okay, Arnold's Terminator is a T-800 Model 101. "Model 101" refers to the metal endoskeleton, but the "800 Series" refers to the actual skin. Remember, Reese says in the first film, "the 600 series had rubber skin". It's the same product, just different packaging so to speak. The T-600's & the T-800's both have similar endoskeletons, but different kind of skin. Van Ling, former Creative Technical Supervisor of Lightstorm Entertainment, and annotator of the T2 illustrated screenplay states, definitively, that "Arnold is an 800-series Terminator, Model 101. This means that the infamous endoskeleton covered in living tissue is a T-800. The fact that the aforementioned living tissue looks like Arnold makes it Model 101. Therefore, all 800-series Model 101s look like Arnold. An 800-series Model 102 would look like somebody else, but would be essentially the same underneath, since it's a T-800." When they are in the game room and the cop is showing the picture to the kid, look behind him and you can actually see Axl Rose playing pac-man in the back ground. Next to him is Duffy, the band's bass player. I am still looking for Slash.....

Actually "You could be Mine" was never wrote for Terminator 2. This song was one that was wrote long ago and was originally suppose to be on the Appetite for Destruction album. If you open the sleeve for Appetite, at the bottom you will find the last printed line to read "With your b**ch slap wrapping, and your cocaine tongue, you get nothing done"

Danny Kooksie was also awesome in Salute Your Shorts. I loved that show. And it's not duffy. It is Duff Mckagen. Not Duffy Mckagen. But you were close enough.

An addition to the T-800 / T-101 Arnie is a T-800, Model 101. He's the equivalent of the standard PS2, as he is a model 101. The T-102 is the revised model, like the slimline PS2. same system, different model.

So many have already said this but let me just correct a few things: 1) You could be Mine was NOT due to appear on "Appetite" as stated - But the line that appears on the sleeve was created about that time in Homage to a famous star (whose name I forget) that inspired Axl and the Band and passed away from a OD months before the albums release. Not what I would call an egg... Just interesting Trivia. 2) G'N'R DID NOT do the Soundtrack - But the song was chosen by James Cameron after lengthy negotiations with "Geffen" - The Reason: Use Your Illusion was due for release and they needed a platform to launch from - T" was perfect, With the addition that Arnie and Cameron were also big fans It made logical sense to use the first single release in the movie. I also believe that MOMENTUM PICTURES who released the film are a sister company to "Geffen" - Do not quote me on that, I will do my research and make sure and correct this if I am wrong... As for the Music Video - Again, There was no "Altered" Video as someone has stated, The decision to use T2 Footage was part of the publicity campaign - As W. Axl Rose was not happy about a video shoot full Stop - Take a look back and you will see most scenes in the Video are "Stock Footage" from tours - Only a few short sections are new footage.

Am at this moment watching T2 and unless this view of "Axl and Duff Playing Pac-Man" is from the ultimate Edition (Which I do not have - I just have the T-1000 Version A.K.A The Directors Cut) - There is NO SUCH MACHINE IN VIEW! I have checked and Rechecked in slow-mo and still nothing! Although there are a couple of G'N'R References in T2 - I can confirm that most that have been mentioned here (So easy to check on now that we have Twitter with Gov. Schwarzenegger online) are actually coincidental. The Shotgun in the Box of Roses was one that was planted but was not deliberate as so many have thought... Cameron Merely thought The Roses Looked Better in Red and became the only "Deliberate" G'N'R Reference as a thank you to the band(Originally they were to be white). Many other G'N'R References are merely "Co-Incidental" - So the comment that people are reading too much into all this is 100% Correct.
