When the movie starts out as the scene of the carnival ends, there is a guy who is walking his dog. He then sees two old people sitting on a porch. He says to the old man, "Hi Mr. Wilson." To which he replies "Hello Dennis." This is a reference to the film "Dennis the Menace". The director Simon West was a producer in the film of dennis the menace.
