When flying the plane, Helen a.k.a Elastigirl, is attempting to make contact with the control tower on the island using the call signal India Gulf Niner Niner. These are the words used over radio frequencies to give letters to a listener. This would make the letters IG99 as in Iron Giant released in 1999 by incredibles director Brad Bird.
