War of The Worlds (2005) Easter Egg - Shot from the Original

When Tom Cruise's character is in the basement with TIm Robbins, Tom cruise looks out a window and you see what is a pale, off-color view. If you look closey. you can notice that the view in the window is an actual movie clip from the original 1953 movie.

also, the last scene where they show the alien dying is a copy of the ending of the origional movie with the hatch opening and the tentacle flopping out. And the aliens looked alot like the ones from Independance Day in my opinion.

If the scene/shot your describing is the one shown in the pictures in the above comment, then your wrong. That shot is NOT in the original movie, as there were no aliens that looked like that, and I don't recall any shots with a smoke or foggy background like that. If anyone can prove me wrong with a screencap comparison, please do so.
