Spaceballs: Collector's Edition Easter Egg - Ship Controls
This is for the new 2-disc Spaceballs Collector's Edition that was just released on May 3, 2005.
On disc 2, the first menu selects one of the space ships from the show. Selecting a ship gives you a certain style of menu. The main contents of the menus are all the same, but on each ship's console there are a few easter eggs. None are particularly interesting, they don't play clips or anything, but they're there.
First, the Winnebego. Notice the small TV screen at the top center of the console with 3 square green flashing lights on either side of it (6 lights total).
With the menu selection on the "Featurettes" item, press the Up arrow. The far left green light of the 3 to the left of the TV screen will light up blue. Press Enter. A periscope drops and shows the radar being jammed. Then the periscope rises.
Now press the right arrow. The first square light to the right of the TV screen turns blue. Press Enter. The Zero Gravity Toilet malfunctions.
Press the right-arrow again. The middle light to the right of the TV screen turns blue. Press Enter. A small satellite smashes against the windshield like a bug.
Now return to the main menu by pressing the down arrow to highlight the "Storyboard-to-Film Comparison" and then press the down arrow again.
Now go into Princess Vespa's space ship. Select the "Storyboard-to-Film Comparison", then press the right arrow. The red button below the video screen in the center turns blue. Press Enter for the Emergency Makeup Kit.
Return to the main menu again by pressing the down arrow again.
Now go into the Spaceball 1 ship.
With "Storyboard-to-Film Comparison" highlighted, press the down arrow. The big red button at the bottom turns orange. Press Enter to jump to Ludicrous speed!
With the big button still selected, press the left arrow. The farthest right of the 4 square buttons below the video screen turns yellow. Press Enter to see the radar get jammed.
Press the left arrow again and the farthest left button of the 4 square buttons below the video screen turns yellow. Press Enter for a cup of coffee.
