Half-Life Easter Egg - Creaters of the Mod Natural Selection

Ok,open map ns_lost and hang around the ready room

Walk up to the spectator podium (the entrance the it anyway) and walk to the right of it. Run and leap off in a top right diaganal direction as if you were about to leap into the random team pit and you should end up in a corridor with pictures of all the mod developers. Also, down the right side, press use on one of the pctures (I think it's the one to the right of the one that looks like Malcom from Malcom in the Middle!) and a whaling noise plays!

Run to the end to exit

I found this egg, but not your way. I tried and tried to get in the room as you say, and then a bug in the game happened. When i jumped down the "random team" hole, i stayed there. I could then press F4 to get into the ready room again, and still i could not get into the game. So i walked down the "marine" corridor, and then got into the room.
