Thief: The Dark Project Easter Egg - Corrections for the Basketball Court Egg

1. Start the Training course. Skill doesn't matter. (correction)
2. Go through it until you start practicing swordfighting with your partner.
3. When he starts to walk away, resist the temptation to continue bashing him with your sword. This is important, time matters!
4. Quickly walk over to the table. (correction)
5. Grab all the stuff; make sure you get the key! (correction)
6. Follow your partner through the gate.
7. There's a locked door in the room he stops in, use your key on it. (correction)
8. You can simply use the DROP key to get rid of the bedroll, instead of trying to throw it with the USE key. (correction)
9. Hopefully, you can continue the training course after playing basketball. When I first found this egg (completely on my own in fact!), the gate closed behind me and I couldn't get out! One of the new patches was supposed to fix this, I think.

Correction -- you actually don't need the key if you hold back your sword and aim at the lock you can break it off.

No. There is a wall in the way of this door unless you do this After your trainer says "Leave the cobblestone area" leave the area and go over to the wooden table. Pick up the the things on the table and quickly follow the guard back into his place. The brick wall should be gone. You have to do this quickly for this to work.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!?!?! I have done it a million times, and have done it absolutely as fast as humanly possible, and the brick wall is still there! What do I do?

In Thief Gold (for sure) and I think also in The Dark Project, the basketball court may be entered only by training in Expert skill. In Normal and Hard skill, when you rush into the hallway, you encounter a dead end with a grey, stone-colored wall on the right. The grey stone wall blocks the hallway to the court. In expert skill, assuming you get in there fast enough (it's not at all difficult), the hall is unblocked and continues to a locked door. Use the key to open it, go in and play some B-ball. Yes, you can use the drop key ("R") to Release the bed roll / quote scroll. BTW, I carried the B-ball to the end of the training mission, but the trainer didn't seem to be impressed. I don't know if it makes any difference, but I also followed the trainer's instructions such as cycling through the inventory, etc.

You have to be on expert for this to work, and you have to hit the door with your sword, but can't continue the tutorial.
