Tron Easter Egg - Chinese Language File
In one scene where Dillinger (David Warner) and the Master Control Program (also David Warner) are talking in Dillinger's office, the MCP demands "Keep those programmers out of the system and get me that Chinese language file I asked for".
This refers to the Chinese language file needed to correctly represent in the end credits all the names of the graphic artists employed by the Taiwanese company Cuckoos's Nest Productions to which animation cells were shipped en-mass for inking and painting.
It was discovered some way into production that the sheer scale of the ink and paint matting task was going to cause problems in meeting deadlines for completion so some work was farmed out to Cuckoos's Nest.
I believe that 126 are named in the credits.
Please post a comment with a correction if you have enough time on your hands to count them all.
