Spiderman Comics Easter Egg - Todd Mcfarlane's "Spiderman" Issues
On most issues of "Amazing Spiderman" numbering from 300 to when his run ended, Todd McFarlane (now the creator of Spawn) hid spiders in his cover artwork! If you look carefully in his INCREDIBLY detailed designs, Spiderman's spider emblem appears in clothing, dirt, rocks, muscles, etc.
He most often put a number underneath his signature which would represent the number of spiders that he hid in that particular cover.
NOTE: If there's no number underneath his signature, then there is usually just ONE spider hidden. Very rarely did he do a cover with none hidden, but I remember two or so that I couldn't find them in. Some are EXTREMELY difficult to find (drawn upside down, etc.)
NOTE: If you grab a copy of Spiderman #1 (his spin-off book, the one that he both wrote and drew around 1990) there's a question mark unerneath his name because of the INCREDIBLE amount of spiders featured on the cover (a few hidden, but most of them obvious).
