Back to the Future Easter Egg - Huey Lewis and the News

In the band audition scene in the beginning, the band is playing a Huey Lewis and the News song. The man who tells them they are too loud is Huey Lewis, and the band on stage backing up Marty is none other than the news.

While you are correct in the fact that it was Huey Lewis with the bullhorn telling them they were too loud, you were unfortunatly mistaken about the Pinheads actually being the News. Sorry.

V.V said the band that was supposed to play next after Marty was the Ramones (Pinheads). He did not say that the The News were supposed to be the pinheads. He said that The News were the ones that were Marty's back-up band!

Huey Lewis is the man with the microphone. Marty's band is the Pinheads. Marty's band is not made up of all of Huey Lewis' band, just his guitarist. the goofy looking guitarist with the blonde hair is Huey's guitarist. That is all.

Well, you're right and wrong about that. The song that the Pinheads play is "The Power Of Love", by.....you guessed it, Huey Lewis and the News. Huey Lewis DOES make a cameo in that scene as the judge with the megaphone, but the News DOES NOT make up the rest of Marty's band, the Pinheads. But I believe there's an exception. The guitarist on Marty's right (and your left) is Paul Hanson (I think that's his name, the DVD commentaries and featurettes never actually mentioned his name.), who is Michael J. Fox's guitar instructor. I heard that the filmmakers wrote him a part in the movie. So, why not? Believe me, I've watched all the DVD commentaries and featurettes on Back To The Future, so I know what I'm talking about.
