St. Elsewhere Easter Egg - A Moon for a Moon
This is so buried you won't even find a clue in the episode itself. Ed Flanders' first major success was in a 1950's Broadway play, A Moon for the Misbegotten. I think he even won a Tony. He later went on to win an Emmy and play a huge part on St. Elsewhere, as Dr. Donald Westphall. When he decided to leave at the beginning of the sixth season, the show winked at him through the episode title. His final episode as a regular (the third show of season six), is named "A Moon for the Misbegotten". The title takes added significance because his final scene in the episode is mooning Dr. John Gideon.
