PLEASE do not be telling the nontechnically inclined public how to access their diag screens...they have no idea what they are or what they are for and can royally mess up their boxes if they do something they shouldn't! This causes the cable operator to have to roll a truck for a service call that might otherwise have been handled over the phone! And people wonder why their cable costs keep going up??? You can also reboot you box by simply switching off the power for about 30 seconds and switching on again while holding down the channel up button on the box until the NTL logo appears.

This egg appears to be wrong...I have an NTL digital set top box. I tried it and it didn't work. The correct way to access the engineers screns is: turn off the set top box at the mains. Turn it on. As soon as you turn it on hold down the up and down arrow keys in the middle of the box. Keep holding them down and the setup screen will appear.

This is confirmed but why turn off the box when you can press Ok < - > then TV Ch - - Ch + easier way to enter Enginneers menu.. Also for reference Page up and Page Down then press the blue button will give you the Info Screens..

You say the reason our cable bills keep on rising is because people are accidentally or unintentionally damged there equpiment. I say screw you friend the reason our bills keep on rising is beacuse companys like ntl keep on getting more greedy Why are you so passionate about ntl, by the looks of thing you work for them. does that mean you have to take your work here.
