Monsters Inc. Easter Egg - Luxo Ball Makes Another Appearance

The ball from "Luxo," one of Pixar's first animated shorts, appears in this film (as it does in most of Pixar's films). Boo hands this ball to Sully when he's returning her to her bedroom near the end of the film. She also gives him a Jessie doll (from Toy Story 2), but that one's too obvious to be an egg.

These are not the only Easter eggs included in this scene. It's possible that Boo also hands Sully a fish from Pixar's upcoming movie, Finding Nemo, which is going to be about a clown-fish. It's scheduled to be Pixar's fifth movie.

I don't know if this counts or not, but I noticed that when Randall was practicing changing his skin to match the backgrounds, one of the backgrounds was the blue sky and white clouds. Wasn't that a common theme in the Toy Story movies?

Another thing I noticed in this movie is during the scene at the trailer home. If you notice the truck parked beside the trailer, you might recognize it from Toy Story 2. It's the pizza delivery truck that the toys drove trying to catch Woody. I thought that was worthwhile of posting, but wasn't for sure if it qualified to be under and egg of itself.

Okie dokie, so, there's a few toy story and bugs life references. One, is the background, that falls when Randall is practicing blending in. (it was already mentioned.) another, is at the end, when Monsters Inc. becomes all "comedic", if you look in the background, propped up against the wall is a huge clown, from the first toy story. (if u watch the pixar movies as much as i do, you take notice.) and also, i'm surprised nobody noticed...but the trailer that Randall gets sent to at the end...well thats the same trailer from a bugs life. when the fly traps are on? remember? its the same thing. i promise!

Since i can't add this as an egg myself........ i'll just say in the scene where Randall gets sent to the trailer right next to the trailer in the shadows is the Pizza Planet truck from Toy Story.

Sorry to burst all you peoples wonderful finds, but if you have the DVD, they tell you all the inside jokes. Just go through the monsters door on the 2nd disc, and go to design. It's right at the bottom and it has pictures.

I spotted another Toy Story reference. In the outtakes, Sulley and Mike are on their way to work. They come across Rex, the green toy dinosaur from the Toy Story series.
