Barton Fink Easter Egg - What Barton's Writing

Listen closely to the first lines of the film. They are actors performing Barton Fink's (John Tuturro) play. Later, after Barton has moved to L.A. and is finishing his screeplay for the Wallace Beery movie, watch what he is typing... It's the same ending as his play.

This is because the entire film was about writer's block, selling out to Hollywood, and rehashing your work.

I don't think this is really an easter egg. I think the viewer is supposed to notice this because it fore-shadows John Goodman's monologue at the end of the movie. Despite his enthusiasm throughout the movie, Barton doesn't know anything about and cannot relate to "the working man." As Goodman (and the flames) point out, life on the lower rungs of the socioeconomic ladder is akin to life in hell.
