MAD Magazine Easter Egg - Cover Egg

This is incorrect, I could think of at least one issue cover Alfred E. Neumann did not appear on off the top of my head, that issue is the Nov. 1995 Mad super special 'spy vs. spy'.

Come on guys..MAD magazine,it's got to be full of more eggs then a chicken farm

Alfred only began appearing in the late 50s with Mad #14.

Perhaps omitting Alfred's head was an egg in itself...

Auper specials are not regular magazines, and as such don't follow the rule, but since the aforementioned #14 Alfred has appeared on every cover of the regular magazine.

It's been a while since I have stopped by here, and I realize you guys were right that the super specials don't count, but before you call someone's info incorrect, maybe you should check how correct yours is. #14 was NOT Alfred's first issue; actually it was number 21. #14 was a cover of the Mona Lisa holding an issue of Mad, and nowhere does Alfred appear. In #21, Alfred actually did first appear. His face appeared as a small picture with the word 'idiot' written under it in a newspaper spiff. At this point, he didn't have a name.

First Alfred was Melvin like everybody else in Mad.

That's Not much of an egg. Not only that Alfred isn't in all of them but He's their mascot. It's not a secret if he's there or not.

To be exact there was one issue that he was not on, and this issue has a bit of a story to it. Alfred's origin had never been determined because there have been thousands of pictures of him floating around, but one person came forward with a copyrighted picture of Alfred, and he decided to sue MAD. During the trial it was brought up that MAD had to have Alfred in order to do any good, so the court made MAD take Alfred off one of the issues as an experiment to see if it would sell as good, it actually sold just as well as any other issue. But MAD won because come to find out the picture wasn't legally copyrighted due to the fact that the picture existed before then. Just thought you might like to know that.

well actually, he hasn't been on some of them lately. It says they can't afford his services or something like that. The cover is blank on them.

Even in the issues where he wasn't on the cover, he was still in the magazine somewhere. He was featured in a few of the really early MAD issues before he began to grace their cover. -Mary

Issue #166, I think, the one with the middle finger, Alfred is no were to be found on the cover. And theres many others I just cant think of the issue numbers off the top of my head. Besides this must be the dumbest egg ever.
