Hallucinogenic Toreador (Dali, Salvidor) Easter Egg - The Hidden Person

In the painting there are two large female figures. If you look at the figures you will see the picture of the toreador (bull fighter).
First look at the girl with the white dress who is right next to the figure in the red dress.
She for the most part is the toreador.
The green shadow is his tie. If you look at the top of his tie you will see a button. Her right breast (the prominent one) is his nose. Her stomach is his mouth. The hips of the figure in the red dress is his cheek bone and the left (shadowed) side of the figure in white's neck is his eye. If you look at the eye you will see a tear coming from it.

you're right, but i think it's the left breast of the lady in white that rapresents the toreador's nose. by the way the shadows that designes the body of the lady in red are like a visual shadow of the toreador's face, or like it was in another light.

This isn't a real egg. The "hidden man" is the toreador the painting is named after! It's meant to be part of the paranoiac critical method which Dali used, where one image is hidden within another, without distorting either of the two.

this "easter egg" is like saying you found an easter egg in an easter egg basket. any art/dali/surrealism fan knows this is the point of the paintings. if you consider that an egg...then that painting alone has about 100 eggs in it. all of his paintings are composites of similar illusions.

That "hidden man" is Dali's friend, the poet and playwright Federico Garcia Lorca. Dali bought a box of Venus pencils and saw Lorca's face in the shadow on the picture of the Venus de Milo on the box. The painting represents Lorca facing his death by firing squad during the Spanish Civil War. There are actually dozens of hidden images in this picture, including the bull below the grid of billiard balls, and the dalmation in the section of spots at the bottom center.

this is nothing big... if you look at all of dali's works from later in his life, you'll see the same thing... its these multiple images as well as his distortion that add to the surrealist style...
