Chrono Trigger Easter Egg - Programmers Ending

The programmers room can be reached two ways, the first is when Chrono first goes to the fair and meets his friend Lucca(the inventor) when he is supposed to go onto the teleporter on the left, go on the one to the right and push "A"(I think, you have to push one of the 4 buttons any way). Doing this will take you to the last boss, its impossible to beat it at level 1 with just Chrono(it might be possible if you got Chrono up to a high level(99?)and did New Game+). However, you can do this later in the game if you come back to the same spot, but I'm pretty sure at one point you can't do that anymore.Anyway, kill all three forms of Lavos and you win the ending with the Programmers. All it is is that you go to the end of Time and can enter the pillars of light which will send you to different points in the game. Talking to the monsters will let you see what the programmers would say.
The other point is when you meet Lavos and you are supposed to be killed by him, if you kill him and the other two forms, you will also get the ending.

I really don't count this as an EGG, its on any Chrono Trigger FAQ or any Walk-through you can find, not to mention it has been said by Square. BTW, the Playstation version is suppose to have some added stuff, dose anyone know if this changes the story?

I think this could be considered an egg; just because it is pretty well known doesn't mean it is not an egg.

Yea, this really isn't an egg. It's pretty well known. But heres a tip. Wait until you group with Marle. ( Of course in New Game+ ) This will make the final battle 10 times easier. BTW i think Chrono Trigger is the Best RPG to date! ( its tied with FF6 for 1st place )

Actually, to get to the ending via the telepod, you must have beaten the game once already, and used the new game+ mode. There will be a little sparkle on the right telepod that you need to 'use' (use the same button that you would use to use anything else- I think it's the A button)

This is not an egg, people; it's simply one of the game's many, many hidden alternate endings. When playing through the game in New Game + mode, it is possible at any point to go to the Millennial Fair and warp right to the final battle with Lavos, and doing this at certain points results in certain endings. The Programmers' Ending is the ultimate one because you must win the final battle right at the start of the game, when it is most difficult because you can only have one character or two (or by beating Lavos around the middle of the game when the plot forces you to fight him, because you're SUPPOSED to lose that battle).

You also can get the programmers' ending by beating Lavos at the Ocean Palace. (You know, the part where you're SUPPOSED to lose to him?) Obviously, you probably won't be able to pull this one off without a New Game+ either.

No, all the play station version did was add a little bit to the end credits, in order to tie the game in with Chrono Cross, it shows Marle and Crono getting married, and Luccia finding Kid.

Hey Kimbo, it's Lucca (Pro-nounced Loo-kuh) Not Luccia. Luccia is an entirely different character from Chrono Cross (Although she also has purple hair, glasses, and is a scientist; but speaks with some weird European accent).

First of all, I can say that this works on Playstation. Second, I don't think that this is a egg. It's too obvious. I found this ending right after I passed the game and selected new game plus. Third, I think that the reason that you can access this ending in the middle of the game (ocean palace thing) is because the Lavos exterior is faster, stronger, and has more HP (I think).

This isn't really an easter egg. It's just one of the thirteen different endings of the game.

There are two ways to get this ending. 1) The Freakin Impossible Way - In New Game +, When Marle uses the teleport pad, only to be dissassembled and sent to the past, take the right pad instead of the left pad. This will take you to fight lavos, which will be quite difficult using only one character. 2) The Easier Way - When you reach the end of the Black Omen and defeat the Queen, she will summon Lavos to slay you and your party. Defeat Lavos in all 3 of his forms right now, and you'll get the Programmer's ending. On a side note, only 3 endings can be seen from a Standard 'New Game'. The Standard Ending, the "Bad" ending, and this Ending. Enjoy!

This in not an egg. In the Final Fantasy Cronicles Guide Book every ending is shown. It is too well known. If you want a egg, you should search harder. How about Chrono showing up in Dragon Warrior VII, for example?

Why is everyone saying it's impossible to beat Lavos with Crono alone? Finish the game 7 to 10 times and try to get Crono to Lvl 70. Then if you know how to play the game and how to beat Lavos correctly, it will be a piece of cake! Just put on a Goldstud and use Luminaire Lavos.
