Hidden in Homer Simpson's head are Matt Goening's initals. Look at Homer from the side. There is an M for his hair and a G for his ear.

Actually, in the show, in the animated episodes, you will never, ever, see an ear on Homer that resembles the letter G. In still cartoon drawings like the one Matt draws on the screen in the particular commercial you are refering to, he makes the ear look just like a G. However, in the show, he never does that, all the ears look the same, and none of them are in the shape of a G.

Matt says he stopped doing it because if the secret ever got out, it would be too distracting. But if you meet Groenng at a fair/convention etc. and get him to draw Homer, he hides his initials in that way.

I support the comments of everyone else. That isn't an egg, but a very well known fact.

Um... no. it is in his ear. Matt says so himself. The M is homer's hair, and the G is his ear. Not his mouth. Sorry, friend.

Matt doesn't draw all the animations in the show. He let's other people do it, that's why you don't see the 'G' in the show.

I suspect it has a bigger implication than this. Copyright. The ordinance survey in the UK drew unecessery squiggles that are distinctive of their maps. By having those there, he could prove to a judge that the image was a copyrighted drawing. It does stand up in court due to the OS suing the RAC, I think, and winning!

I agree with Alex - but the Ordnance Survey have sued the A.A. (Automobile Association) for £20 million - NOT RAC Just thought I'd clear that up. It's also true about deliberate markings to identify one's own work/creation.

Anyone who's seen the episode of MTV cribs with Moby knows that this is not an egg, but a well known fact. In the episode, Moby points out his signed picture of homer from Matt, and he tells the story of the "MG"

Maybe someone can clear this up for me - is Matt's last name pronounced "Gray-ning" or "Grow-ning"?

Someone asked about the pronounciation of Matt's name. It is definently "Gray-ning". I am 100% sure on that one.

Homer shows that his hair and ear form an "M" and a "G" in a later episode. something happens, then Homer says "And for some reason My ear and my hair form an M and a G!" or something like that. I'm a hardcore fan of the Simpsons, and I've seen every single episode. I know this stuff, and I've seen every egg.

To everyone claiming this isnt an egg.... Wrong! This is in fact an egg, since it has personal significance to the creator AND is not intentionally meant to be noticed. You'll notice that a lot of the people claiming its not an egg even say, and I quote, 'he hides his enitials this way'. Shot yourselves in the foot, guys >:)
