Field of Dreams Easter Egg - Reference to Editor
OK, this is an egg that I think is pretty cool cause it's personal to me as well as to the creators of the movie. See, my dad used to be an editor at Houghton Mifflin, which is the company that published the book Field of Dreams was based on, namely "Shoeless Joe" by W. P. Kinsella. My dad was working there when Kinsella submitted the manuscript and he edited the book and basically got it published. Now, our last name is "Kessenich" which is pronounced like "Kess-en-ick." If you go to the scene where they're at the school and there's a meeting where a woman is trying to get a book banned, you can hear someone say something like, "Calm down, Ms. Kessenich," to the woman speaking against the book. You have to listen for it, cause I think they're showing Kevin Costner on camera when they say it, but it's very easy to hear if you're looking for it.
I just thought that would be a fun thing to share. If you have the DVD it might say it on the subtitles, I'm not really sure.
