Coen Brothers Easter Egg - Roderick Jaynes

the credits for most of the Coen brothers' films since Barton Fink, list Roderick Jaynes as the Editor. Roderick Jaynes is actually a pseudonym for the Coen brother's themselves, made up by Joel and Ethan in '92 because to quote Joel "There were already enough Coens in the credits of our movies."

The fact he doesn't exist didn't stop Roderick Jaynes getting nominated for the academy award for best editing in '97 for Fargo.

Too bad they lost ! Would have been great to see the Coen brothers on stage trying pitifully to explain that the guy couldn't come but had asked them to take the Oscar for him

When Roderick Jaynes was nominated for an Oscar, the brothers managed to persuade Albert Finney to and attend the ceremony disguised as Roderick Jaynes. Unfortunately the organisers found out and would not allow it.
