On the last line of the song 'One Vision' he actually sings 'fried chicken' instead of 'one vision'.

This ISN'T an egg as eggs are HIDDEN THINGS. Not stuff that is obvious....

Actually, there are plenty of things which are obvious to some people but not others. If even one person doesn't catch something the first few times they hear or see it it's an Easter Egg... For example: If you've seen the moving Coming to America with Eddie Murphy you'll probably remember the scene where he takes the money clip from Arsenio Hall (who plays his steward) and places it in a brown bag. Later, during his date he hands it to two homeless men. One of them, played by Don Ameche, looks into the bag, see's the money and exclaims "Mortimer! We're back!" ... if you haven't seen Trading Places (starring Eddie Murphy, Dan Aykroyd and Don Ameche) you have no idea what that means. Even if you have you may not have caught the reference... the line refers to Don Ameche's and Ralph Belemy's (the other bum) characters in Trading Places having been Wall Street Millionaires who lost all their money thanks to Eddie Murphy. Point made I think.

Re: "Fried chicken"...actually this is an "outtake" from an earlier unfinished version of the song that was left in. There's an in-studio video clip in "The Magic Years" which shows the band working on the song. They apparently don't have all the lyrics finished yet, as Freddie is singing "One clam, one fish, one fried egg sandwich...."

Even if some people don't catch it right of way. IF you read the info on this web site of what constitutes an easter egg, this is not an egg.

I read somewhere that the actual line is "one vision" but Freddie used to sing "fried chicken" sometimes when they performed live.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I thank you all for the egg and the comments!! When I came to the states as a foreign exchange student an interviewer for the local newspaper asked me what I liked best about the US. My reply was "Kentucky Fried Chicken", which was the honest truth and got me some gift certificates from the local franchise. Loving fried chicken as much as I do, I thought I had finally gone over the edge when I heard Queen sing "Fried Chicken" at the end of that song! So I am really thankful to find out after all these years that I'm not the only one hearing it! Golly, could I have saved a load of money on shrinks bills if I had visited this site first...

I have to agree with The Nipplemeister and Tony D. The song was intentionally ended with "Gimmie! Gimmie! Gimmie! Fried Chicken!" This isn't an Egg nor an accidently placed bit. A documentary on VH-1 on Queen spoke on about many of the songs Queen put out. And they just thought it sounded good on the end of the song of 'One Vision'. If you have any more questions as to why, your best bet is to contact the surviving members of Queen for that answer. They didn't explain any further as to why they ended it with Fried chicken.

There's also a Queen documentary where they are again in the studio singing One Vision and Freddie uses the lyrics 'one dump, one turd, one s**t, John Deacon' or something along those lines. I cracked up laughing when i heard it

There was actually a purpose to this Easter egg. "One Vision" was the theme song for some movie (Iron Eagle, of memory serves) and the "Fried chicken" at the end was meant to coincide with the establishing shot of the first scene following the main title sequence, which was - you guessed it - a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant.

Th line is, I am sure, 'Fried Chicken' as it was Fredie Mercury's favourite meal ('Gimme, gimme, gimme, Fried Chicken'. If memory serves he actually had fried Chicken as his last meal on his death bed. Steve

Your Dead wrong about the movie being Iron Eagle and seeing the KFC at the begining, the movie was "Highlander" and pretty much every song on the albulm appears in the movie, Masters of the Universe for example refers to the immortals being kings among men "Inside me I have blood of Kings" and the song Gimme the prize refers to the power received by the "ONE" when there is only one imortal left, many of the songs even contain lines from the movie its self like the Kurgan in gimme the prize "There can be only one" I beleve the only songs that did not go into the film were "freinds will be friends" and i think one or two others. Highlander was the best movie Chris lambert ever made!!!

Sorry Shalashaska, check your movies because it IS in Iron Eagle and NOT in Highlander. You may be confused because all of the Queen songs from Highlander are on the same album (A Kind Of Magic) as One Vision. Also, this could count as an egg somewhat since the published lyrics clearly say the last line is "One Vision". If you weren't listening closely you may not hear it.

The Fried Chicken line at the end of One Vision could also be about another thing which I notice nobody has mentioned. It could be because the song was done shortly after Live Aid, and Live Aid was all about stopping people in third world countries from starving. The song itself One Vision all the way through is about bringing together every nation and forming one nation where there is no hunger, fighting, just peace and love for everyone. One Vision's lyrics are very similar in style to Imagine, but a lot more in your face.

I have the album, its in the song, it's not hidden but its interesting. I Love Queen and this is a true story no matter what you guys say (and yes fried chicken is Fred's favorite food), and there are different versions of the song.

Sorry, Sham, I have to disagree with you. Being a big fan of Highlander movie and series. One Vision is from the movie 'Iron Eagle' and A Kind of Magic is a compilation album that just happened to have most of the songs from Highlander the movie. Highlander doesn't have an official soundtrack. I looked all over for a soundtrack back when the movie first came out and my Army roommate just happened to have this tape. She's the one that told me about no soundtrack. As for the 'fried chicken' part, she said it had something to do with them ordering lunch that day and that is when they came up with putting it in towards the end. Maybe they were having trouble with the ending...
