Monkey Island 4 (Escape from Monkey Island) Easter Egg - Sam n Max, Grim Fandango

When on Lucre Island you look for pegnosed petes house. When you are looking for the map in the databank thing at the prostheses, the name he gives you to look for is random but the name he gave me was "Sam N. Max." Another reference to the game.

In the Myst O Tyme swamp you recieve a pistol, a rope, rubber chicken with a pulley in it, and a skeleton key. Open your inventory and look at the face of the key. It Looks like the head from the skeleton guy from "Grim Fandango."

The name it gives you is not random, it depends on the combination of the dispositive. One of them gives you Henry J. Jones (the real name of Indiana Jones). There are other funny names, but I don´t remember any of them now.

All of these items are in reference to another Monkey Island game. The pistol is from #3 where you have to "duel" with one of the pirates. They key IS the head of Manny Calavera from Grim Fandango. The chicken with the pulley is from #1 where you have to use it to get to Meathooks island (it works both ways!)

The 'skeleton' key is the key Rapp Scallion - forgive me if this is wrong, but it's been a long time - gives you in Monkey Island 2 to turn off the gas, is it not? Which would mean that all three objects are from past games, and Manny's head is stuck on as a little decoration of the joke.

If you put the correct symbols for "MJC" into the directory in the prosthetics shop, you can get the file for "Manuel J. Calavera" - a.k.a. Manny from Grim Fandango!
