I Will (Beatles) Easter Egg - Vocal Bass on I Will

Listen to the bass run in the song I Will on the Beatles White Album. The bass guitar part is actually Paul vocalizing the bass guitar part rather than playing it. Can be confirmed in the Beatles book The Love You Make by Peter Brown.

If you listen passively it sounds like a bass guitar. If you listen closly you can hear the little inconsistencies in the vocals.

verified by Ian McDonald in the highly detailed book 'revolution in the head' - confirms that it was Paul who sang the part [the day after the initial sessions (17/9/68)]- John only added Percussion to the track. Session notes show that it took 67 takes (not 99) to complete.

I just heard "I Will" for the first time with headphones. I had to get confirmation that I was hearing Paul's voice and not his bass. Thanks for the data. I had credited Bobby McFerrin for such innovation with his vocal "instrumentation". Now I have that much more respect for Paul!
