X-Files: Songs in the Key of X Easter Egg - Bonus Songs

Begin playing the CD at track #1 (The X-Files Theme). Hold down the reverse button and rewind past 0:00. The very beginning is at -9:13 I believe. There are two songs by Nick Cave and the Dirty Three. The first is a creepy tune with a Latin title ("Time Jesum Transeuntum Et Non Riverentum") and the second is a version of the X-Files theme. A hint is given on the album liner that says "Nick Cave and the Dirty Three remind you that 0 is also a number".

Well, here I sit pressing the search button like crazy, manage to get to -9:13 and... nothing.. The whole track is empty :( I bought the disc in Israel, my guess is the record company re-edited the disc or something. :(

this is by far the coolest egg i have heard on any of my gigantic collection of cd's. it is very interesting and not a typical egg, just appearing at the end of a cd. you actually have to look for it.

Excellent Egg :-) The "Nick Cave And The Dirty Three Song" is absolutely great!! The X-files theme/remix is Ok But the idea of adding tracks to an album in this way is cool. BTW: I'we never had any problems playing these tracks

Drea: the songs are there - recommend you use another CD player (if you haven't already). Also, take out the CD cover, fully unfold it, look on the back side (where all the song credits are) in the upper left hand corner, where you can read the "reminder". Again, the songs are on the CD (unless you have a bootleg or similar), and the Nick Cave track is very good - worth the time spent finding it!

Yup it's there! I think thats totally cool... if you can find it or don;t know if your copy has it....in the upper left corner it will say "Nick Cave and the Dirty Three would like you to know that '0' is also a number." It says that right before the rest of the track listing.

The songs are excellent, but may be hard to find depending on your CD player. The bonus tracks work good on my home deck but won't play at all on my car deck.

If you look in the CD insert and look above the listing for "Mark Snow - X-Files Theme (Main Title)" in the upper left, you will see "Nick Cave and The Dirty Three would like you to know that "0" is also a number" This is the best hidden track I have seen in a long time.

This type of hidden track (before track one) is quite common, and happens on a lot more discs than you realize. It is also quite easy to hide tracks between any two songs on the disc, just rewind from the beginning of the song as you would on track one. I know this because I am a Mastering Technician at a CD manufacturer. The "hidden" tracks at the end of the program aren't really hidden, they are simply un-credited on the track listing.
