Lost World: Jurassic Park Easter Egg - Original 'Lost World' Homage

An insider show may already have referenced this.
There was a movie called "Sir Arthur Conan
Doyle's: The Lost World" made when films were
still black and white. In it there is a scene
that shows an animated T-rex walking along and
scratching itself with one of it's tiny arms.
This same gesture occurs when Jeff Goldblum
and whatshername are driving away in the red
convertible and the T-rex knocks the 'Spirit of
'76" ball down and it rolls towards them.

The Lost World was originally an excellent book by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (who wrote the Sherlock Homes series), they recently re-made it in a stupid TV movie also called "Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World." But i didn't know about the old movie.

The original film was a black and white silent film released in 1926. It's actually pretty good, considering the technical limitations of the time. "The Lost World" may be the first "dinosaur" movie (just as Conan Doyle's novel was probably the first to use that theme). It might be available from some video outlets that specialize in older, out of print films.

I haven't seen the movie in a while, but is the t-rex scratching its head with it's forearm? If so, this motion also occurs in King Kong. I remember seeing on some show about dinosaurs in movies that one stop-motion animator was very impressed with this one move, how it was a nice little touch, and used it himself in a later movie with a rex and cowboys and such. Maybe it's the same motion again.

Actually, I think the new TV series is very good. The graphics are bad, considering what actually is available, but they have come up with some very good story lines. You'd have to be Puritan or something to like the original and not the TV show.

I thought people checked the spelling on these things? Anyway, a T-Rex could scratch it's face by lowering it's head down close to his arms, not vice versa. I should know. I have a pet T-Rex. Or Maybe it's a Giganotosaurus?
