Gladiator Easter Egg - Hidden Trailer

Perhaps because this is on DVD it might be a different trailer, but Chicken Run parodies the movie The Great Escape. The movie itself contained no reference to Gladiator that I saw.

The Chicken Run trailer uses the same "motto" as gladiator just slightly changed. It says "A story about an egg, who became a chicken, who became a hero, to keep from becoming a pie" or something to that nature. ~DCJoeDog

The original poster meant that the trailer for Chicken Run on the Gladiator DVD parodies the original theatrical teaser for Gladiator.

This appears not to work on Region Two DVDs. Odd that the Rhino thing works on Regions One & Two but not this one. Some sort of international clay-mation conspiracy is obviously at work.

It doesnt seem to work on the Zone 4 copy either.

Yes, that's true. This egg doesn't work in Zone 2 (at least in my country). The reason can be this one: In my country (Spain) Gladiator is distributed by Columbia Tristar Spain, and Chicken Run is distributed by Sogepaq (an spanish distributor). The fact is... Columbia doesn't want to include a spot from a film that isn't distributed by him. That's why it doesn't work here, and it could be why it doesn't work in your country. And that's why here in Spain we lose TONS of eggs; because of the distributors. I know, it's sad :( JED

Alas, this doesn't work on the region 4 (Aus) DVD. :(

I found the hidden "Chicken Run" trailer by going directly to Chapter 10 on disc 2, using my PC DVD software.

the movie Chicken Run parodies the movie the Great Escape as larin said earlier. Everything in the movie comes form it including the beginning credits ball bouncing thing Ginger does. And the main reason the two movies Gladiator and Chicken Run are linked with the empeeor broach egg is because these two movies are the only two movies that currently can use 7.1 surround
