Human Clay (Creed) Easter Egg - Extra Track

1. Listen to the last track
2. Let the CD player keep playing for about 3 minutes
3. Another version of 'With Arms Wide Open' will start playing

I know there is something different about it, but I'm not sure what. If anyone notices how it's different, please leave a comment about it.

I don't have that version of the album; bought mine the days it came out in '98 and it ran straight. It seems pretty obvious which version of the song it is, but I would like some closure on this one: is it the version with the orchestra in the background, found most prevalent in the chorus but heard elsewhere as well? If it is, I'll keep my day-of-release copy. Radioplay ad nauseum on that newer version makes me lose my appetite.

The difference is the strings in the background and the clamping of the hi-hat(percussion instrument for those of you who don't know), and on my copy of Human Clay it is a completely separate track, but it only shows up on my real player and my portable CD player

The song is the strings version, like said, and it is also the version Creed used to make the video for "With Arms Wide Open." My cousin noticed that in the video, the solo is played twice before Scott starts to sing, but in the album, it's played once. When I got the CD, I realized the extra track and sent him an e-mail telling him.

Hey, on my cd it's a separate track too, and what it is is the acoustic version. They just started playing it on the radio out here about 3 months ago.

Hey all, I'm a very big creed fan. and the version on the newer cds is just the plain strings version that they play on the radio. If you visited their site they said on it that the newer human clay CD's would have the strings version as a bonus track. If you were one of the people like me that bought the CD when if first came out with out the strings version there is a single out with the original version, the strings version, and the acoustic version w/ strings. but that is if you can find the single there was only a limited number made and it took me forever to find it. Also the single is enhanced with the video for WAWO.

I bought the Human Clay CD about 6 months ago and when I listened to the end of the last song, the CD just finished like normal. There was no bonus track. WHY?

The CD you need for the bonus track has to have a copyright on the back of the CD that says 1999,2000 Wind-up Entertainment. The other with just the 1999 copyright doesn't have the bonus track.

Bizarre - mine just finishes after 'Young Grow Old'... I guess I have the wrong version then.

I must have a new version of Human Clay because this egg has its own track. The difference is that there is an orchestra in the backround. It's kind of obvious, but don't feel stupid, I had to listen to it a couple times to realize the difference.

The song Young Grow Old is on the import version of the Human Clay CD. It won't have the strings version of Arms Wide Open.

The extra song is COMPLETELY different: orchestra, longer guitar solo, ending is completely changed, etc. This version of the song is also the one in the music video.

If it just ends after "Young grow old" then you need to fast forward before the song ends by holding down the forward track button.

When I play my C-D and go to track 12 it is "With Arms Wide Open" (The Extra Track) The orchestra in the back changes it and also a longer guitar solo. But their is also an echo after his words. But I don't have the real 12th song. If I play it three minutes after #12 would I get #12. I just don't know. Please answer someone.

The acoustic version is yet another version they did for the With Arms Wide Open CD single. The single also has the video of With Arms Wide Open on it. Proceeds from the single go to Scott Stapps Arms Wide Open Foundation that he started.

How do you get the extra song. my CD ends after 'young grow old' and when i fast forward it it doesn't work. what do i do?!?!?!?

The last song on my Cd is "Inside Us All", and there is no bonus track. But, I did get a tag inside the cover telling me to go to www.creednet.com/bonustrack/ to download "Young Grow Old". It says it is a track not released in the US.

I noticed the difference between the two different versions of "With Arms Wide Open." The difference was the drums came in a lot sooner in the second version of the song, than they did in the first version.

OK I'm leaving a comment because I've tried to add this egg but they wouldn't let me and it sort of has to do with this song: in the beginning of the song "with arms wide open" if you have the volume up really loud you can hear a heart beating. I am guessing that it is the heart beat of Scott Stapp's little boy Jagger but I'm not sure. someone help me out here he he :)

This "Hidden Track" is different than the non-hidden track. The hidden one is the one that they play on the radio. The verses are a little different. Also, if you turn up the volume really loud before the music starts, you can hear a heart beat.

Actually, both the normal song and the secret song have the heart beat at the beginning of the song. And, I think the only difference between the two songs is that the ending is a little difference and the secret song has a violin/orchestra accompaniment.

The heart beating in the beginning of WAWO is just a regular heartbeat sample. Babies hearts beat much faster than that one did.

Did nobody else notice that the entire drum beat is different? In the first version, the snare is played on the "a" of 2 and on 4. This gives it a cool off-beat feel which I prefer. In the last "Arms Wide Open" track (alternate version) the snare is simply played on 2 and 4 making it sound straighter. That, along with the orchestra, changes the overall flavor of the song in more of a subtle fashion.

On my version of the CD, you don't even need to fastforward/wait to get to the song. Just skip right to track 12. It is not, however, listed on the back of the case, so I guess it counts just the same.

There are three versions avaliable seperate to the album version and the edited (shortened)version of the album version. (1) The studio acoustic version has heaps of keyboards and string instruments and when it comes to the lead, Mark rips into it on his acoustic only to eventually get overpowered by a small bunch of violins. (2) The original 'strings' version has ditched the acoustic and put the original electric guitar tracks back, just turned them down a bit. The strings are still there but those damn vilons get beating in the lead break this time. (3) Creed refer to this version as the "new version with strings". This one is the heaviest of all the string-induced versions, not because the guitar is turned up, but more-so because the strings are turned down. There is extra reverb on Scott Stapps voice at the start of the song and Mark has a wah type effect throught his guitar rather than just a plain clean sound. Otherwise, there's not too much difference between the two non-acoustic string versions. Track times:(1) 3:56, (2) 3:54 & (3) 3:44. ...and who says the heart beating at the start is meant to be a baby's? His first line is "Well I just heard..."
