The person who said it was nepotism wasn't talking about Ellen Travolta being his mother and his sister. (She is his sister). Nepotism means that you show favoritism to a family member in business; in this case, making sure his sister was in the movie with him, as she often is.

Ellen Travolta is absolutely, positively, 100% John Travolta's mother. And this is NOT an egg. John Travolta put his mother in a lot of his movies. She also was on the TV show "Charles In Charge" for several years.
